The Storyteller
available at WW Treenware Folk Art Gallery Downtown Elgin, Texas

Wandering the world, imparting bits of wisdom, and sometimes whimsey, to those who will turn an ear . . .

This piece was included in a special exhibition at the 2005 Kansas City Doll Fair (www.kcdollfair.com) of dolls created by members of the Central Texas Art Doll Sculptors

Standing, The Storyteller is 16" tall.  He is a one-of-a-kind original, with hand-sculpted face, hands and feet, and a cloth body with a wire armature.  His clothing and boots are hand-sewn.  His hair and beard are tibetan lamb's wool, applied lock by lock.  His features, including his eyes, are hand-painted.  He is seated on a piece of natural driftwood.

One Wish...
(SOLD)
When I was a little girl, my mother showed me a dandelion and told me, "If you pick it, make a wish.  Then blow - if all the fluff flies away, your wish will come true."

This piece was entered into competition at the 2003 Kansas City Doll Fair (a great friend convinced me to enter).  "One Wish" was awarded a First Place ribbon, along with a Special Merit Award for "Excellence in Dollmaking" from Scott Publications and a second Special Merit Award for "Excellence in Miniature Dollmaking" from Mini World Doll Supplies.

The Tangle Faerie

It seems that some times, no matter how well you've brushed your hair before you go to bed at night, you wake in the morning with snarls - that's because you've been visited by the Tangle Faerie!

(This piece is sold)
