I have been
involved in various forms of art for as long as I can remember. As a child,
my wonderful mother encouraged my imagination, balanced it with reality,
and instilled in me the trait of sensibility. (Thanks, Mom!) Before discovering
polymer clay, I dabbled in various crafts, painting, ceramics, sketching
portraits, and arranging flowers. One day in 1992, I was walking through
Michael's and saw two books - "Fimo Folk" and "Fimo Fantasies" by Maureen
Carlson. I was entranced... After a bit of manipulating the clay,
suddenly a little face full of personality was staring back at me! It was
an experience I will never forget. With its limitless possibilites, polymer
clay became my medium of choice.
I work full time at a "regular" job, have a wonderful family, and
am so fortunate to be surrounded by a perpetual menagerie of loving creatures
including horses, dogs, cats, fish and whatever other furred, feathered or
swimming being winds up on my doorstep. I have been blessed with finding
the "love of my life", my darling husband, who is very dear and supportive
of me and my sometimes "wacky" ways (Thank you, Honey!). Though my lifestyle
can be insanely hectic, I still make time for my creativity, striving to
perfect my artistry and bring a little joy to the world.
I enjoy giving workshops in sculpting and polymer clay techniques. It's
a joy to see the delight on a student's face when they finish their creation
and realize that, Yes! They can do this!
I accept commission work - I love a challenge! Past commissions have
been portrait busts, one-of-a-kind faeries, gnomes, mermaids and angels.
If you are interested in having your own one-of-a-kind creation, email
me and I'll be happy to consider your request.
Thank you for visiting me here and may all good things come to you.
